Biography

I was born in 1950 and educated on the South coast of England, studied Medicine in Bristol and pursued a successful career in psychiatry and health service management in the Midlands. Following retirement in 2009 I turned to art, completed a foundation course at the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design at Bournville and am currently studying in the final year of the BA (Hons) course in Fine Arts at Margaret Street, Birmingham. I am twice winner of the Gertrude E Griffin Award for Advancing the Study of Design, Birmingham City University, 2012 and 2013. I have deployed my lifelong interests in wilderness walking and prehistory in my current devotion to art in the landscape.
