Nicholas Griffin Sculptor of Material Relationships in Landscapes
Floaters & Flyers - October-December 2014
The Torus shaped Floating Sculptural Objects are relatively uniteresting until placed in a landscape context and allowed motion.
The first four sequences in this video show such an object being blown down the length of Llyn Y Fan Fawr, a glacially formed lake at the base of the Carmarthen Fan mountains.
The next four sequences show similarly shaped objects in the River Usk near Glassynt.
The following four sequences show a simple sculpture of plastic rings in a tributary of the Usk.
Finally a kite shaped Flying Sculptural Object makes a brief appearance. it might be a joke.
